Daisy

Born 1885, Rosa Marguerite, known as Daisy, was Lionel's first-born and John's elder sister. She inherited her father's energy and commitment to life: from the start she was determined to help others and was always ahead of her times. As a young woman she played first violin in Edward Elgar's orchestra in Worcester and was one of the first woman drivers in the country. After school she qualified as a First Aider with the St John's Ambulance Association and then enrolled at The London College of Pharmacy, Chemistry, etc For Ladies, from where, in 1904, she qualified as an Assistant in Compounding and Dispensing Medicines.

Returning from London, Daisy immediately put her qualification to good use, working for her father as his Dispenser at the 27 Church Street surgery.

In 1915, Daisy married Rev A Claude Davis, then a curate in Kidderminster, before moving to Northampton and supporting his role in the communities they served.
